The work to secure a just future for people and the planet is multigenerational. Making a gift in your will of any size can provide the resources to strengthen and carry on that work. That is why MiningWatch is launching a legacy giving program, to mark the end of 25th anniversary fundraising campaign.
A gift in your will is an extraordinary way to express hope for the future, and a commitment of solidarity to people and communities fighting to protect the land and water for future generations.
Your generosity can build the bedrock for meaningful, and sustainable long term change. With your support, and in collaboration with our partners and allies, we can strengthen our efforts to push for a world where communities can exercise their right to self-determination and ecosystems can thrive.
We are honoured that some of our donors have already trusted us to steward their resources after their lifetime to protect critical ecosystems and continue the fight for mining justice for generations to come. Thank you for your contribution to the long term sustainability of MiningWatch Canada.

Here are the details to include in your will when making a gift to MiningWatch Canada:
As you may know, the Canadian government restricts the advocacy work that charities are allowed to undertake. MiningWatch Canada, because we undertake advocacy work to change the laws and policies that enable harmful mining practices, cannot issue charitable receipts.
As such, we also have a sister organisation, the Canary Research Institute for Mining, Environment, and Health that carries out research and education projects through MiningWatch, and does not advocate with governments. Canadian donors to the Canary Institute will be given a charitable donation receipt.
