Mexican authorities have confirmed that three of 10 employees of a Vancouver-headquartered mining company who were kidnapped from a mining project in the western state of Sinaloa at the end of January have been found dead.

News reports state the three men were found late last week in what local media described as a mass grave near a rural village some 15 km from Concordia, the city where the project site the workers were abducted from Jan. 23 is located, according to CBC.

Vancouver’s Vizsla Silver Corp. owns the mining project, which it calls the Panuco silver-gold project, and in a statement Monday said it has been informed by family members of some of the workers have been found deceased and that the company is awaiting confirmation from Mexican authorities.
