(Montréal) The Coalition Quebec meilleure mine, a civil society mining watchdog, is alerting the public and investors that Nouveau Monde Graphite’s president and CEO, Mr. Eric Desaulniers, appeared today at the Financial Markets Tribunal in Montreal. The Autorité des marches financiers (AMF or Securities Commission) alleges that Mr. Desaulniers participated  in “illegal financing” activities in violation of Quebec’s Securities Act.

AMF has identified three cases and up to $17,000 in alleged illegal financing and is seeking $10,500 in penalties. Both parties (AMF and the company) were at the Tribunal today to present a settlement agreement. The Tribunal will make a decision on whether to approve this agreement within the next few months.
